HD 18 tungsten alloy rod is particularly useful when magnetic permeability may be an issue. Its ingredient is 95% tungsten、3.5% nickel and 1.5% iron. It is Class 3 product of ASTM-B-777 tungsten alloy rod.
Although the introduction of copper results in lower tensile strength and ductility, the lack of magnetic properties make them an excellent choice for oncology systems, shielding electrical sensors in applications such as well logging, or rotating inertia members used near guidance systems.
