Orthorhombic tungsten trioxide nanoflake may be prepared by hydrothermal method. And the influencing factors on the photocatalytic reaction were studied using photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue by the synthesized WO3 as model. And the photocatalytic properties of orthorhombic WO3 nanoflake were studied by determining the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of methine blue before and after photocatalytic degradation by potassium dichromate method.
Hydrothermal Method to Prepare Orthorhombic Tungsten Trioxide Nanoflake
The chemical reagents used were of analytical grade and were not purified before use.
1. Weigh 3.0g Na2WO3 and 0.005g CTAB (cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide), dissolved in 10mL distilled water. Take 3mL of this solution and slowly add into 5mL 3mol•L-1 HCL. Stir for 30min. Move into reactor and place in oven at 100°C for 24h.
2. Carry out centrifugal settling the next day, washed repeatedly with distilled water and acetone, and dried the obtained precipitate in oven at 80°C to obtain precursor.
3. Put the precursor in muffle furnace, calcined at 300°C for 3h to obtain yellow powder.
