Zinc Tungstate

Zinc tungstate is a type of white powder or crystalline solid with the chemical formula of ZnWO4, molecular weight of 313.22, and CAS No. of 13597-56-3. It is stable under room temperature and pressure.

Zinc tungstate is generally available in most volumes. Ultra high purity, high purity, submicron and nanopowder forms may be considered. As an important inorganic material, it is widely applied in optics, phonics and magnetic. The ZnWO4 has the nano structure of auer, grain and flakes. And there is seldom report about its three dimensional structure. zinc tungstate picture
Single crystals of zinc tungstate are grown by the Czochralski method from melts prepared by various methods. Of the three chemical etches evaluated for purposes of revealing dislocations in this material, solutions of potassium or sodium hydroxides were most satisfactory.

The (100) and (010) planes were shown to be slip planes. Both of these planes are parallel to the growth direction of crystals grown for maser applications.

Annealing experiments indicated appreciable mobility of the dislocations at about 800°C. Gaseous inclusions were frequently surrounded in their immediate vicinity by dislocations, and regions with a high density of these inclusions also had a high dislocation density.

Toxicology Data
Acute toxicity: Primary irritant effect.
Above the skin: Irritating to the skin and mucosa.
Above the eyes: The effects of irritation. There are no known effects of sensitization.
