Cobalt tungsten oxide, also called cobalt tungstate, is a kind of net gray powder with molecular formula of CoO4W. As a type of dingal material, it can be widely applied in catalyst, additive of pigment and microwave dielectric ceramic, etc.
Preparation - Low Temperature Molten Salt Method
The specific steps of low temperature molten salt method to produce nanometer cobalt tungstate is shown as bellow:
1. Mix LiNO3-Na2WO4 with molten salt, the mass ratio of 1.17: 1.
2. The mass ratio of Co and W is 1: 1 and prepare the two materials into aqueous solution with a solubility of 1mol/L respectively. After intense agitation, the Na2WO4 solution is slowly added to the CoCl2 solution. And then stir for 30min until the two solutions are well mixed.
3. Filter, precipitate and wash the mixture. And then dry in an oven at 80 °C to obtain CoO4W precursor.
4. Weight the molten salt and the precursor. The mass ratio is 6: 1. Mix in a mortar uniformly. And then pour into the alumina crucible. The crucible is placed in an electric furnace and kept at 210, 270 and 340°C for 8 hours respectively.
5. After the synthesis reaction, cool to room temperature. A solid product was obtained in this process. Then, the cobalt tungsten oxide powder is prepared after distilling, washing, filtering and drying.
