Tungsten trioxide may be prepared by the sol-gel method and be applied for ceramic microsphere. The WO3 powder prepared by sol-gel method has the characteristics of small particle size, good uniformity and high purity. And it is easy to be industrialized. However, the disadvantage is that it is difficult to control the transformation of the sol-gel, and easy to form hard agglomeration after drying. Besides, the synthesis cycle is often longer.
Preparation of Tungsten Trioxide by Sol-Gel Method
Na2WO4 was used as raw material, and hydrochloric acid (HCl) was added to prepare sol. Then, surfactant was added into the sol to obtain agglomerate, dried and calcined to obtain tungsten trioxide powder with an average particle size of 40~60nm.
The sol-gel method is a method that a metal organic compound, a metal inorganic compound, or a mixture of the two is solidified through the process of solution, sol and gel, and then subjected to heat treatment to form oxide or other compound.
