Infrared Ultraviolet Shielding Material: Tungsten Trioxide Nanopowder

Tungsten trioxide nanopowder is a new infrared ultraviolet shielding material. As its name implies, it is a heat-insulating material that can shield ultraviolet and near-infrared rays. Therefore, studying the photochromic properties of tungsten trioxide helps to understand the thermal insulation material. Tungsten trioxide may be synthesized using 1-propanol as an organic inducer, and the obtained tungsten trioxide has novel morphology, so as to enhance its photochromic properties.infrared ultraviolet shielding material tungsten trioxide nanopowder picture
1-propanol Induced Synthesis of Hexagonal Tungsten Trioxide
The 1-propanol induced product is hexagonal tungsten trioxide with a particular structure. The corresponding results shows that these tungsten trioxide microspheres look like urchinlike, and comprise many tungsten trioxide nanorods, 500~1000nm in length, 50~100nm in diameter, and with aspect ratio about 10. This novel morphology increases the specific surface area of the tungsten trioxide, increases the amount of protons generated by the laser, and significantly improves the photoproton transport process, thereby enhancing the photochromic properties of the tungsten trioxide.
