Tungsten oxide can be applied for manufacturing thermal insulation coating.

Preparation of Tungsten Oxide/ Solvent type Polyurethane Composite Film
1. 10g of WO3 powder, 90g of MEK and 150g of zirconium balls were ball milled. After milling for a period of time, a WO3/MEK suspension was obtained when the average particle size was about 500nm.
2. Four different ratios of the WO3/MEK suspension (0.25wt%, 0.5wt%, 1.0wt%, 1.5wt%) and the solvent type polyurethane were mixed and degassed by using the planetary vacuum mixer, and four types of WO3/DPU slurries with different ratios were obtained.
3. Coat with an automatic coater to obtain the WO3/DPU film.

Then, tensile test was performed using Universal Strength Tester HT-9101; Thickness of the film was measured using a digital electronic thickness meter; And the UV-Vis Spectrometer was used to do the near-infrared shielding test.
