Cesium tungsten bronze is a new near-infrared shielding material with selectivity and strong near-infrared absorption in the range of 800nm~1200nm.
The near-infrared shielding material coated with cesium tungsten bronze has superior solar control effect. It diminishes near-infrared rays of shorter wavelength which has much of the heat energy in sunlight compared to ITO (tin-doped indium oxide) and ATO (antimony-doped tin oxide).
Cesium tungsten bronze can be surface-coated on glass or PET film, or mixed into the plastic material such as polycarbonate and polymetyl-metacrylate, to provide superior solar-filtering characteristics to the base material, while maintaining high transparency.
Cesium tungsten bronze requires only little content for exerting an equivalent effect, as compared to ITO and ATO, so it is very favorable from a cost standpoint as well.
As you may have known, scattered arrays of plasmonic nanoparticles have been shown to manifest a strong absorption of near-infrared light, and applied recently to solar control filters for automotive and architectural windows. It means that cesium tungsten bronze nanoparticles have the above properties.
