The classic ammonium paratungstate production process mainly includes the steps of ore decomposition, transformation to obtain crude ammonium tungstate solution, removal of impurities in crude ammonium tungstate solution, crystallization to obtain ammonium paratungstate and its crystallization mother liquor, and recycling of crystallization mother liquor. In other words, APT crystallization mother liquor is produced during the crystallization of ammonium paratungstate. Then, why should tungsten in the ammonium paratungstate crystallization mother liquor be recovered?
The main component of APT crystallization mother liquor is ammonium chloride and ammonium salt of tungsten homopolyacid and heteropolyacid, usually containing WO3, Cl, S, a small amount of P, As, Si and other anions and Ka, Na, Ca, Mg, Cu and other cationic impurities. As there are more impurities, the crystallization mother liquor cannot directly new_ to the main process to recover tungsten, and an auxiliary process must be set up to recover the tungsten in the ammonium paratungstate crystallization mother liquor.
