Preparation of Tungsten Trioxide by Using Wet Ammonium Paratungstate
Add 240 kg of wet APT with water content ≤8% to the silo every hour, and send the wet APT into the rotary furnace evenly through the double screw feeder. At 710 °C, the wet APT is decomposed by heating for 40 min to obtain WO3, NH3 and water vapor. Analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, the morphology of the obtained tungsten trioxide is basically the same with WO3 produced by APT after drying. And its performance can also meet the requirements of manufacturers. Compared with traditional process, preparing WO3 by wet APT calcination process reduces the drying and packaging process, not only shortens the process flow, reduces the waste of manpower, resources and energy, thereby reducing cost. Moreover, it improves the working environment as there is no dust pollution.
