W18O49 nanowire is a gas-sensing material with great development and application prospects due to its special structural characteristics. Wherein, W18O49 is also known as violet tungsten oxide. As we all know, nitrogen oxides are typical atmospheric pollutants, which pose a huge threat to the environment and human health. Research and development of high-sensitivity gas sensors and related gas-sensing materials that can be used to accurately detect and monitor NO2 gas have important practical requirements.

W18O49 nanowire is a newly developed gas-sensing material under this background. Some experts have tested the gas-sensing performance of one-dimensional nanostructured tungsten oxide materials. The results show that the W18O49 nanowire-based gas sensor has the best gas-sensitivity to NO2. It not only shows good reversibility, but also has high sensitivity and fast response and recovery characteristics. Its sensitivity to 5ppm NO2 can reach 123.6 at 200 °C. Its response time and recovery time are 15s and 112s, respectively.
