One-dimensional WO2.72 nanowire is also known as one-dimensional W18O49 nanowire, which can be synthesized by a simple, template-free solvothermal method. Wherein, WO2.72 and W18O49 are the formulas of violet tungsten oxide. Studies have shown that one-dimensional WO2.72 nanowires can be used as counter electrode materials for dye-sensitized solar cells. 1. Nanowires grow highly preferentially along the [010] crystal direction, which is conducive to the rapid conduction of electrons and the exposure of active sites;
2. The network structure formed by interweaving nanowires is conducive to the contact and diffusion of redox couples. Therefore, the one-dimensional nanowire structure not only exhibits platinum-like catalysis and dye-sensitized solar cell performance for I- /I3- electric pairs, but also exhibits better catalytic and dye-sensitized solar cell performance for larger and slower cobalt complexes and ferrocene pairs.
