According to the experts, they have prepared hexagonal tungsten oxide via a soft chemical nanocrystalline processing route, and studied the structure of parent phases by scanning and transmission electron microscopy and X-Ray diffraction. Also, they determined the electrochemical behavior of the films by atomic force microscopy and cyclic voltammetry. Besides, they tested the sensing properties of the tungsten oxides toward gaseous ammonia at various temperatures. The results showed that the ion insertion properties of the tungsten-based films show a clear dependence on the presence of structural water and on the close packed structure. And the layers were found to be sensitive in the concentration range of 50-500 ppm at the temperature of 300 °C.
