Nano Yellow Tungsten Oxide Applied for Ceramic Microsphere

Nano yellow tungsten oxide may be applied to prepare ceramic microsphere, which may make it have better performance, such as higher hardness, higher temperature resistance, more environmental protection, and so on. Certainly, yellow tungsten oxide has wider applications. It may also be applied for the development of a new material with special surface wettability. For example, superhydrophobic WO3 particles may be synthesized by combining a simple acid precipitation process and a subsequent octadecyltrichlorosilane modification. Then, the superhydrophobic coatings with photochromism and mechanical stability were obtained via coating the superhydrophobic particles on glass substrates by virtue of the adhesion of epoxy resin. SEM, XRD, XPS and FTIR were used to analyze the surface morphology and chemical composition. Results showed that the obtained superhydrophobic coating was covered with a layer of rough structure which was composed of WO3 particles. This simple processing method will be of great significance in the design of high-performance superhydrophobic surfaces in practical industrial production.
