Tungsten trioxide nanopowder for thermal insulation coating may be prepared by hydrothermal method. The reason why tungsten trioxide can be applied as thermal insulation material is that it has photochromic property. So, why not analyze the morphology of the synthesized powder? It can provide basis for the exploratory study of the photochromism mechanism of WO3 powder!
Morphology Analysis of Tungsten Trioxide Powder Synthesized by Hydrothermal Method
The following figure shows the SEM image of WO3 powder prepared at different pH value. From the figure, it can be seen that the pH value of the reaction system has a significant influence on the morphology and particle size of the product. When the pH value of the reaction system is 1.0 (a in the figure), the synthesized powder consists of short thorny spherical particles with uniform particle size distribution and a diameter of 0.8μm~1μm. And when the pH value of the reaction system is 2.5 (d in the figure), the synthesized powder consists of irregularly shaped blocky particles.
