Nano tungsten trioxide may be applied in window heat insulation film, thereby reducing building energy consumption caused by ultraviolet rays and near-infrared rays in sunlight, lowering cooling costs, improving human comfort, and extending the service life of furniture.
Research progress of tungsten trioxide photochromic materials: Using WC16 and mWO3•nH2O as raw materials, stable sol was prepared by changing the pH value, the ratio of alcohol, water and polyethylene glycol, in accordance with two producing processes. Then, the sol was made into thin film. After testing, it was found that the obtained thin film had photochromic properties, especially hybrid film using WC16 as raw material has a fast response and strong absorption.
The metastable tungsten oxide powder was prepared by adopting hydrothermal method and using HCI to acidize Na2WO4 solution. The synthesized powder was irradiated by 350W high pressure mercury lamp. And it was found that the synthesized tungsten oxide powder of tungsten bronze phase had photochromic properties.
